These results are extremely interesting if compared with those obtained on conventional HCC circulating markers, such as AFP, which shows a sensitivity of 0.61 (95% CI 0.60–0.62) and a specificity of 0.86 (95% CI 0.85–0.87) in the 20–100 ng/mL concentration range, as demonstrated by a recent metanalysis [28].
