Altered expression of lncRNA GAS5 in blood and significant correlation with systemic inflammation have been reported in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia, and sepsis, highlighting the role of GAS5 in acute and chronic inflammatory diseases [20,21,22,23].
