ABHD12 expression is mainly characterized by the neurodegenerative disease called polyneuropathy, hearing loss, ataxia, retinitis pigmentosa, and cataract (PHARC) syndrome, which is associated with mutations and deletions in the Abhd12 gene in humans and might be a consequence of a defective endocannabinoid system [63]. This evidence concerns the gene ABHD12 and cerebellar ataxia.
