IGHE and anaphylaxis: There are two major types of immune system-mediated diseases caused by wheat consumption: (i) IgE antibody-mediated allergic diseases that include, classical food allergies (with symptoms of the gastrointestinal tract, and systemic anaphylaxis), atopic dermatitis, urticaria, baker’s asthma, and allergic rhino-conjunctivitis; and (ii) non-IgE-mediated immune diseases that include celiac disease (an autoimmune disease), non-celiac gluten sensitivity, and eosinophil-mediated diseases (e.g., eosinophilic esophagitis, eosinophilic gastroenteritis etc.)[12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20].
