Weng et al. reported that MCT-1-overexpressing triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells secrete IL-6, which activates monocytes/macrophages to an M2 TAM-like phenotype via the JAK2/STAT3 pathway and that this pathway can be inhibited after neutralization with IL-6 antibodies [90,91]. Here, IL6 is linked to triple-negative breast carcinoma.
