A recent paper by Lee et al. reported that propranolol treatment inhibited migration, vascular network formation, vascular endothelial growth factor A production, and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 activation, and downregulated the PI3K/AKT pathway but induced mitogen activated protein kinase pathway activation in hemangioma stem cells [19]. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and hemangioma.
