The use of combination of cytarabine and anthracycline, known as the “3+7 regimen”, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), and, more recently, the use of targeted therapies, such as hypomethylating agents (HMA, azacytidine, decitabine), venetoclax, FLT3- inhibitors, and IDH inhibitors, have resulted in promising responses in select AML subsets [3].
