Therapies that work in preclinical models of AP include, but are not limited to, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., indomethacin, diclofenac, ketorolac) [14], pentoxifylline [15], calcium channel inhibition with CM4620 [16], poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors [17,18,19], peptide hormones (e.g., somatostatin, secretin) [20,21], hemin [22], neostigmine [23], and blocking the TNFα receptor with infliximab [24]. This evidence concerns the gene PARP1 and alkaline phosphatase measurement.
