FBL and bacterial meningitis: The paraclinical investigations resulted in higher median values for white blood cells (WBC) (15,573 cmm vs. 11,708 cmm), polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) (82% vs. 77%), C-reactive protein (CRP) (122 mg/dL vs. 47 mg/dL), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) (62.73 mm/h vs. 38.46 mm/h), and fibrinogen (Fib) (5.16 g/L vs. 4.28 g/L) in the group with bacterial meningitis compared to the viral one, and the differences were statistically significant (p < 0.05).
