In rats of the BPH (model) group, there was a significant increase in the levels of cellular DNA damage as measured by the levels of 8-hydroxyguanine (8-OH-dG) (p < 0.001) and a significant (p < 0.001) reduction in the expression levels of both CAT (Figure 2B), and TAC (Figure 2C), respectively, compared to control rats. Here, CAT is linked to benign prostatic hyperplasia.
