They did not observe an association with NSCLC which may be due to several differences (1) the inclusion of mutations in their biomarker definition, which we observed had a weaker effect than deletions, (2) the fraction of squamous cancers in the dataset since we observed no effect of CDKN2A deletion in squamous lung cancer, (3) the inclusion of EGFR/ALK+ patients which we excluded, or (4) inclusion of multiple lines of therapy since we analyzed only first-line patients and found the effect weakened in later lines (data not shown). Here, CDKN2A is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
