In a multimarker score developed using a Cox proportional hazards model for CHF exacerbation episode incidences and ROC-determined biomarker cut-points, only Gal-3 higher than 11.5 ng/mL was associated with a 12% risk increase of hospital admissions for exacerbated CHF (95% CI 1.01–1.25) (Table 4). Here, LGALS3 is linked to congestive heart failure.
