Despite the well-known features of corpus-predominant atrophy in autoimmune gastritis, the CD8+/CD4+ ratio in the gastric body (body CD8+/CD4+) did not differ between autoimmune, active, and inactive gastritis (Figure 3), whereas that of the gastric antrum (antrum CD8+/CD4+) represented a potential diagnostic marker. The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is autoimmune gastritis.
