NFKB1 and rheumatoid arthritis: 1,25(OH)2D3 can restrain macrophage-mediated inflammation processes by suppressing the AKT/NF-κB/COX-2 pathway in a carrageen-induced paw edema mouse model and it can also reduce the proliferation of fibroblast-like synoviocytes and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, and PGE2) in a rheumatoid arthritis rat model.
