Our data indicated a promising role for EPA and DHA in reducing the potential incidence of insulin resistance in offspring by up-regulation the expression level of genes involved in orchestrating glucose metabolism such as insulin receptor (ISR) and IGF-1 but not Glut-4 in muscle samples culled at D 1 and 21 post-parturition (Figures 3, 5 respectively). This evidence concerns the gene SLC2A4 and Insulin resistance.
