PNPLA3 and Hepatic fibrosis: Notably, our multivariable regression models showed that higher plasma PIIINP (standardized beta coefficient: −0.206, P = 0.011) and HA levels (standardized beta coefficient: −0.531, P < 0.0001) were associated with lower eGFR values, even after adjustment for age, sex, systolic blood pressure, PNPLA3 rs738409 genotype, and any stage of liver fibrosis.
