Interestingly, 9 GR mutations out of 14 (64.3%) with adrenal hyperplasia are also associated with hypertension (Table 1), i.e. 47% of the GR mutations with hypertension are also associated with adrenal gland hyperplasia raising the question whether a direct link between hypertension and adrenal hyperplasia exists (Fig. 3). This evidence concerns the gene NR3C1 and hypertensive disorder.
