Within the prospective Health Professionals Follow-up Study, we reported a lower risk of PTEN-null prostate cancer among cancer-free men who used statins compared to non-users (HR 0.40; 95% CI 0.19–0.87) and no association between statin use and PTEN-intact prostate cancer (HR 1.18; 95% CI 0.95–1.48) [8]. The gene discussed is PTEN; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
