ACE and myocardial infarction: Clinical guidelines recommend long-term use of the following cardiac medication classes for secondary prevention in post-myocardial infarction (MI) patients: antiplatelets (aspirin plus a secondary antiplatelet); statins; beta blockers; and angiotensin system inhibitors (i.e., an angiotensin-converting enzyme [ACE] inhibitor or angiotensin receptor blocker [ARB]) [1–3].
