In this study, some upregulated DEGs were related to lipid metabolism, including S100A8, BMP2, ADIPOQ, DGAT2, VLDLR, ELOVL6, GPI and ACACA. S100A8 plays an important role in the inflammatory responses of obese adipose tissue and contributes to the pathogenesis of obesity [21]. This evidence concerns the gene ELOVL6 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
