Gria1 deficient mice, harboring the global loss of GluA1, mimic multiple features of neuropsychiatric disease states related to glutamatergic dysfunction, among others, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD), bipolar disorders, and mood disorders (Wiedholz et al., 2008; Fitzgerald et al., 2010; Ben Abdallah et al., 2011; Barkus et al., 2012; Sanacora et al., 2012; Vogt et al., 2014). The gene discussed is GRIA1; the disease is attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder.
