Triggering receptors expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) and DNAX-activating protein of 12 kDa (DAP12) in microglia are gradually recognized as the downstream of microglial inflammatory signaling in pronociceptive facilitation during chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy and nerve trauma-induced neuropathic allodynia (Hu et al., 2018; Wang Y. et al., 2020). The gene discussed is TREM2; the disease is peripheral neuropathy.
