Hypercoagulability associated risk factors to consider are factor V Leiden, protein C and S deficiencies, plasminogen and antithrombin III deficiencies, elevated factor VIII levels/activity, sticky platelet syndrome, dysfibrinogenemia, tissue plasminogen activator deficiency, tissue plasminogen activator inhibitor pathologies, antiphospholipid antibodies, homocystinuria, and, more recently, recent/concurrent SARS-CoV-2 infections [4-5]. This evidence concerns the gene F5 and familial hypodysfibrinogenemia.
