Nevertheless, the results of the current study suggest that in a mouse model of depression (BDNF+/−), CXCL1 deletion (Chai et al., 2019) and Slc17a7 reduction (Lindstrom et al., 2020) are related to the loss of excitatory neurons in the prefrontal lobe, whereas Ptbp1 downregulation (Qian et al., 2020) correlates with neuronal regeneration. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL1 and depressive disorder.
