Given the functional significance of Nek2/β-catenin signaling in CSC biology and the observation of Nek2/β-catenin repression under RPL17 knockdown condition, we have determined to investigate if targeting of RPL17 could reduce colorectal CSC properties by detecting the changes in expression of cancer stemness marker genes, sphere forming capacity, migration ability and invasion ability. Here, RPL17 is linked to cancer.
