In an RNA-Seq experiment, SA-dependent genes were mostly unresponsive to infection by Fo5176, though PR1 was also up-regulated in leaves during the early stages of infection [1 day post-inoculation (dpi)], when the fungus is supposedly in the biotrophic stage of infection, and was later down-regulated (6 dpi), possibly by an antagonistic effect of JA signaling, induced during the transition of the fungus to its necrotrophic stage of infection (Lyons et al., 2015). Here, TMEM37 is linked to infection.
