Some established models of preeclampsia like the reduced uterine perfusion pressure (RUPP) model and the transgenic renin-angiotensinogen rat model also lack glomerular endotheliosis [32–34], while the soluble Flt1 model of PE does have this feature, making the latter model more suitable to investigate renal damage induced by PE [34–36]. This evidence concerns the gene FLT1 and preeclampsia.
