NCR2 and inflammatory bowel disease: At the time of IBD diagnosis, the frequency of ILC1s is increased in patients with CD, and the frequency of NKp44+ ILC3s in inflamed tissue is decreased in both CD and UC patients (71), consistent with the previous literature showing that NKp44+ ILC3s produce IL-22 and IL-22-producing ILC3s are decreased in IBD (72–76).
