Previous studies have reported that G. biloba extract can prevent renal fibrosis by modulating Akt/mTOR signaling in diabetic nephropathy [45]; it can also reduce the occurrence of liver fibrosis through NF-κB and TGF-β1 or by regulating p38 MAPK, NF-κB, and Bcl-2/Bax signaling to relieve liver fibrosis [46].
