An example of this is PARP inhibitors, which have been approved for breast cancers in both the metastatic and the early-stage setting for patients with germline pathogenic BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations (16–20), and for ovarian, pancreatic, and prostate cancers with BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations (21–26).
