GNAL and Dystonia: Interestingly, while dystonia has been associated with irregular cerebellar firing in other models of dystonia (LeDoux and Lorden, 1998; Chen et al., 2014; Fremont et al., 2014; Fremont et al., 2017; van der Heijden et al., 2021), the firing irregularity (as measured by the coefficient of variation of the interspike interval, CVisi) was not significantly modified under oxotremorine for WT and Gnal+/- mice, although DN neurons in Gnal+/- mice exhibited a stronger shift toward regular firing discharge under oxotremorine compared to WT mice (Figure 4—figure supplement 2B, Supplementary file 1r).
