In particular, the sustained activation of NF-кB signaling occurred in two RNF138-ablated CRC subtypes associated with much more aggressive tumors and adverse outcomes, indicating the inverse correlation between RNF138 expression and the pp65 N/C ratio in tumors (n = 284) (Fig. 6i–l; Supplementary Fig. S7g, h), consistent with the changes in downstream gene expression highlighted in the cases of ICAM1 and PTGS2 (Fig. 6m, n).
