Recently, the Consortium to Inform Molecular and Practical Approaches to CNS Tumor Taxonomy (cIMPACT‐NOW) proposed a diagnostic entity of grade II–III isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH)‐wildtype astrocytoma having either telomerase reverse transcriptase promoter (TERTp) mutation, EGFR amplification, or a combination of whole chromosome 7 gain and whole chromosome 10 loss (+7/−10) that behaves similar to GBM.4 This evidence concerns the gene IDH3A and glioblastoma.
