The frequency of comorbidities (arterial hypertension, diabetes, and cigarette smoking) and treatment with nonsteroid antirheumatics, synthetic (s) disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors as biologic DMARDs, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, and beta-blockers were basically the same in both groups.
