OBE-2008, a borolysineanalogue, significantly reduced the rateof body weight gain during the growth phase in DIO mice.15 SCO-792, a 4-guanidinobenzoate derivative, isreported to exhibit potent body weight reduction in DIO mice.16 Another example of a 4-guanidinobenzoate analogue, camostat, which is an inhibitor of trypsin-like serine proteases, inhibited enteropeptidase activity and induced body weight loss inDIO mice.17 These findings suggest thatthe inhibition of enteropeptidase activity may be an effective treatmentfor obesity. This evidence concerns the gene TMPRSS15 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
