A systematic review and meta-analysis article (n = 880 eyes, 11 RCTs, moderate certainty evidence, Supplementary Table S4) revealed that the incidence of postoperative retinal detachment in PDR patients who used anti-VEGF drugs before vitrectomy was significantly lower than that in patients without anti-VEGF drugs treatment (RR = 0.39, 95%CI 0.22–0.71). Here, VEGFA is linked to retinal detachment.
