An analysis of the effect of the pregnant women’s weight before and after delivery on zonulin, occludin and LPS concentrations at 0, 3, 6 and 12 months showed no correlation in overweight women (BMI 25–29.9) before delivery, and no correlation was observed in those with obesity (BMI > 30) or of a normal weight after delivery. This evidence concerns the gene HP and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
