A baseline NT-proBNP level > 125 pg/mL was significantly associated with incident HF hospitalization (HHF) (hazard ratio (HR): 5.40; 95% CI: 2.67–10.9) as well as with HHF/cardiovascular death (HR: 3.52; 95% CI: 2.38–5.20) and death due to all causes (HR: 2.53; 95% CI: 1.78–3.61). This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and hydrops fetalis.
