The inhibition of mitophagy by 3-methyladenine (3-MA)/PINK1-directed siRNA dampened liraglutide suppression of NLRP3 inflammasome and pyroptosis activation, suggesting that liraglutide improved NASH by suppressing NLRP3 inflammasome and pyroptosis activation through promoting mitophagy [73]. Here, NLRP3 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
