GFAP and Gliosis: Furthermore, the HSV-1-induced overexpression of GFAP were significantly suppressed in the RBV and the VCV treatment groups by the immunofluorescence staining and quantitative image analysis (Figure 6C), compared to those expression in the HSV-1 infection group, suggesting the therapeutic roles of RBV and VCV in the HSV-1-induced gliosis.
