RB1 and neoplasm: As has been introduced at the beginning of this article, blocking CDK proteins also induces endogenous cyclin inhibitor proteins such as p21 and p27, which are common targets of many phytochemicals and plant-based foods such as those mentioned in this review (p.e. curcumin, vitamins A, C, E; anthocyanins...), that further decrease RB1 phosphorylation and consequently avoid tumor cells invasion, migration, and angiogenesis.
