The high expression of ACE2 we observed in colon and gastric cancer is in agreement with the recent identification (using a bioinformatics approach in a TCGA pan-cancer panel) of ACE2 overexpression in colorectal and gastric carcinomas [26], supporting that these two types of cancer tissues could internalize SARS-CoV-2. This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and gastric carcinoma.
