Further evidence for an involvement of several of these candidates was derived by an inguinal hernia-specific expression analysis resulting in nine genes meeting the significance threshold, eight of which were in loci reaching genome-wide significance (ADAMTS6, DNAJC27, EFEMP1, FBLN2, HAND2, LOX, MFAP4). The gene discussed is ADAMTS6; the disease is Inguinal hernia.
