A gene set rather similar to those found in the present study (ADCY3, ATP2A1, BCDIN3D, BDNF, CADM2, ETV5, FTO, GNPDA2, GPRC5B, HNF4G, LINGO2, LMX1B, MC4R, MTCH2, NEGR1, POC5, PTBP2, RASA2, SEC16B, TFAP2B, TLR4, TMEM18, ZC3H4, ZFP64) was underlying the causal association between BMI and PCOS in a previous MR study as well [25]. This evidence concerns the gene FTO and polycystic ovary syndrome.
