The fracture rate of 3.1% in this trial of participants with diabetic kidney disease was roughly twice as high as that seen in other trials of SGLT2 inhibitors which were conducted in people with high-risk cardiovascular disease and underlying type 2 diabetes, and similar to that seen in the DAPA-CKD trial that also recruited participants with known CKD [24, 28].
