ACE and Cirrhosis: In order to evaluate whether ongoing medical therapy (diuretics, beta-blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor [ACE]-I/angiotensin receptor blocker [ARB], calcium channel blocker [CCB]) could influence LV-GLS, we excluded three studies [10,14,45] that reported these medications in patients with cirrhosis, and the result showed that there was still a significant reduction of LV-GLS in patients with cirrhosis (MD:-1.69; 95%CI,-2.59 to -0.79, p = 0.0002; I2 = 76%, p<0.0001).
