Both mitochondrial membrane potentials, complex I enzyme activity and their mass were enhanced (Fig 2B and 2C).On the other hand, the glycolysis antagonist fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase 1 (FBP1), and enzymes that catabolize pyruvate are depleted in ccRCC tumors, demonstrating that ccRCC relies on lactate fermentation [6, 26].
