Sophisticated antiviral innate immunity systems of plants, that is, PAMP‐triggered immunity (BAK1, BIK1) (Calil & Fontes, 2017; Ramirez‐Prado et al., 2018), effector‐triggered immunity (PBS1, NB‐LRR) (Calil & Fontes, 2017; Lee & Kim, 2015), and NIK1‐mediated signalling (Calil & Fontes, 2017; Machado et al., 2015), can activate intricate defence signalling cascades, including the activations of TFs by MAPKs to resist pathogen infections (Ramirez‐Prado et al., 2018) (Figure 5a).
