HIF1A and cancer: Additionally, resveratrol has been shown to have the potential to inhibit angiogenesis in different cancer models [21, 22, 23], as well as the expression of HIF-1α (Hypoxia-Inducible Factor 1 alpha) and VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor), through various mechanisms such as the inhibition of PKB (Protein Kinase B), the activation of MAPKs (Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinases) and the suppression of capillary formation [24, 25].
