GHSR and eye disorder: Previous studies have found that ghrelin and GHSR-1a are also expressed in the pigment epithelium of the ciliary body, retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and iris in the human eye [24], and their expression can also be detected in the aqueous humor [25], suggesting that ghrelin plays a regulatory role in the physiological function of the eye and is closely related to the occurrence of eye diseases.
